Celestial Profile - January 2008

The month of January brings in the entrance of the new beginnings for the New Year, but also a new nine-year cycle that begins with 2008. January’s energy is set as Mars retrograde enters Gemini on December 31st and sets a new and different pace for the whole month of January. Mars retrograde has provided a detour of our journey and with Mars retrograding back into Gemini, we will begin to have information fall from the sky, bubble up from the surface and come into our awareness through many varied methods.

On January 2nd, Mars retrograde opposes Pluto’s last steps in Sagittarius which brings the information into the situation that creates a push-pull scenario. As Mars retrograde continues to bring in information unabated, we find that we are looking one way and then another, which causes us to look at situations from a very different perspective. 

The New Moon on January 8th at 17' Capricorn prompts us to revise our contracts, pacts, treaties and agreements because of the information that is flooding our days. On the 19th, Venus provides resolutions and fixes for Mars retrograde events. The situations that are looking very different than they first did, are starting to show the real issues underneath the surface. This catches us by surprise, but as the veneer fades, the real issues begin to be seen.

Venus meets with Pluto on the 23rd on the last step of Sagittarius to provide some important resolutions that are implemented into the situations. Pluto then rolls into Capricorn on Friday, January 25th and begins to empower the pop-up events that emerged when Jupiter rolled into Capricorn. Pluto directs events into action and our new Capricorn stage begins to come alive. Capricorn relates to our career and business pursuits and provides a new direction for each of us as we veer into our true work. 

Mercury turns retrograde on Monday the 28th at 23' Aquarius and prompts us to revise our goals for integrating humanity and making a difference in our career pursuits. This becomes a very important part of Pluto’s emergence into Capricorn because the Solar Eclipse on February 6th at 17' Aquarius integrates our values of humanity and prompts us to choose a path that will give us the opportunity to make a difference. The Aquarius elements of our career and business pursuits will be adjusted during this Mercury retrograde and we will revise the values that we have with our connections with others, in our work environment especially. 

2008 is universally a ONE year, emphasizing the new nine-year cycle that we are now just beginning. We are moving into unfamiliar territory and making important decisions as we assess the current situations, environment and terrain to find our path forward.

January is universally a TWO month which gives us the sensitivity that we need to make these important decisions and to connect with others that are moving into similar directions. Our connections with others become very important in January and we begin to make important steps along the way regarding our negotiations and mediations with others that are of primary importance in our life.

We are raising our antennas to determine where our rightful path is and the direction that we are going. Similar to landing at the airport of 2008 and making the assessment and determinations needed as to where we need to go, who we are now connecting with and what our focus and purpose is going to become. All of these important elements become very important in the process.  

TWO is the number of relationships, partnerships, negotiations, mediations, cooperation, connections with others, discussions, alliances and the emphasis on working together. Sensitivity is important during this time as well because of the attention needed to determine compromise and cooperation. The focus helps us to move through January as we land at the airport of 2008 and make our important decisions, figure out our inner blueprint, and connect with others along the way. 

The DAYS OF NEW BEGINNINGS will be January 8th, January 17th, and January 26th, which move us into new directions as we reveal the new beginnings of 2008. Important issues will be brought into view on these days to shift us into using our creative and expressive energy. This new energy gives us a giant push to move forward with boldness and readiness, ready to make important decisions and jump into our future. Especially as January 8th holds the New Moon, new beginnings will jump into our day when the Sun rises on our new purpose.   

The DAYS SLATED FOR MAJOR CHANGES are January 3rd, January 12th, January 21st and January 30th. Changes blow into this month from every which way and push us to move into new environments. Each of these days continues to shift our focus and goals toward the new directions that are beckoning to us. Each of these days also provides a requirement to jump into action, taking bold steps to address the information that has come into our sphere, especially as January 30th contains Mars turning direct and changes our direction from where it started out in September 2007, when Mars was at the same point. Mars turning direct on this changing day opens up our life allowing us to move in a completely different way. We find these days as very powerful and full of changes.

The DAYS OF CHALLENGES when the greatest side-winds and surprising events send information hitting our doorstep with a thud and cause our jaws to drop and our hair to stand on end, will be January 5th, January 14th, and January 23rd. With these blasts of challenging information, we must find the strength and fortitude to continue walking through the information and enter into the pathway that takes us into our future. It is time to venture into the Unknown when we look to the new pathway of our future that is being created right before our very eyes that reveals a whole new life. Yet it is our ability to see the challenges as opportunities to bring forward our personal attitude and personal effort to shift the purpose from one of challenge to one of opportunity. 

The DAYS OF REWARDS: The next day brings the saying “What a difference a day makes,” into our reality and provides the rewards and successes for walking through the uncertainties of the day. These days are January 6th, January 15th, and January 24th. Doors of opportunity begin to open and we are able to take action on our strong feelings that prompt us into action. The new energy we respond to, especially noticeable as Venus rolled into connection with Pluto right before moving into Capricorn, provides resolutions at the last minute to come into the picture. There will be many issues that will demand our attention. Challenges evolve into successes with a positive omen on the 24th as Venus brings these resolutions into the current environment ready for Pluto to step into the batter’s box. All things are possible as we move into this new energy of the New Year.
